Movin and Groovin'

Although not quite on her own yet, Jenna can now pull up to a stand on everything she sees, and cruise along objects. She really likes to pull up on Joshie (he hates this though). She today started to take some steps!! The video below is not all that great, but its a start....LOL...I appologize for Joshie walking in front of the camera.

Almost there!

Jenna has been working on crawling the past few weeks and at her dr. appointment last week he said that she wouldn't crawl for a long time before she would start walking. I would say that is very evident! She is also getting some teeth and has discovered the vibrating corn! It looks funny to see her eating such a big piece of corn, but I know it must feel good on those gums!

And here's a cute little video of her and the corn....

I love you...

Bathtime fun together

My little ones - there's never a dull moment with you two. I love you so much and I love watching you grow and interact with each other. It warms my heart, Joshua, to see you show your sister new things and help her learn. It makes me smile, Jenna, to see you always smiling at your big brother and look up to him. I pray that God watches over you every day and grows you into blessed children who will honor Him.

Vacation

Jason took off this week to spend with the family for vacation. It was actually very nice. I thought it would be "cramping my daily routine" having him home all day all week, but it was such a blessing!! He got to spend some much needed time with each of the kids and with me. It has been relaxing and a sweet time together. Yesterday Joshua and Jason went to the Houston Aquarium for the morning to spend some "daddy - son" time together. They had so much fun! Here are a couple pictures of their time together:
He got to see white tigers, pet horshoe crabs, see sting rays, and lots of fish. They rode a little train around the park and he got to get a stuffed dolphin (which he picked out) as a souvenier! He had so much fun that all the rest of the day all he would talk about was "fishy, fishy, fishy"!! LOL - I think he and daddy have something in common....

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day...this is Joshua here. I'm going to tell you what mommy, Jenna and I did for daddy to celebrate his special day! Daddy's been wanting a bike trailer to take Jenna and I bike riding with him and mommy. They used to ride their bikes alot before Jenna and I were born. So, mommy Jenna and I surprised him with this cool trailer! Now we can all go bike riding together!!!

Here's daddy putting it together - I helped

Here's Jenna and I trying it out in the house:

This morning we finally got to go on a ride together. It was so much fun - although Jenna fell asleep on me and wouldn't get off me!! I guess I'd better get used to it!

The morning got off to a rough start as daddy's bike chain was messed up. Thank God he's a mechanic and fixed right away!

And we're off!!!

So Busy

I know it's been over a week since my last post. Seems like some weeks are just busier than others! Tomorrow is Father's Day, so I wanted to post before since I know I will have something to post about that tomorrow or next week. ....
I guess I'll start with Jenna's 6 month stats. We went to the doctor for her check up, and she is doing well. She weighs 14 pounds, 9 ounces now and is a little over 26 inches tall. She is crawling all over and can sit up for long period of time now. The doctor said though that since she likes to stand and pull up on things that she will probably be walking before long. I guess she won't be crawling very long! My guess is that she wants to chase after Joshua!! Look out! Two little ones on the run!

Lsat Saturday we got to visit my sister and her husband and their little boy, Elisha. They recently moved into a new house, so we spent the day over there and had lots of fun swimming and hanging out.

Here's Eli and my sister, Jessica:

And here's the kiddos:

It was a great time to splash and get wet in the summer sun. At night Jason and Shon went mini-golfing and we stayed home to stay with the kiddos. Josh learned a sad lesson in physics though: "An object in motion stays in motion, unless an opposite force acts upon it". Poor little guys was trying to take a toy downstairs (which he wasn't supposed to be playing by the stairs anyways) and he fell down them to he landing. Scared me to death as he was on the landing and his mouth was covered with blood and his jammies were too.
Thankfully he had only bitten his tongue. It looked really bad, but he was such a big boy! He held onto the ice and sucked on it (while watching Cars) and it stopped soon after that.

Sunday was a good day as my little sister, Vanessa, had her baby! Little Caitlyn Jane Marshall was born in the morning around 5am and she weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces, and was 21 inches long. She is so cute! We went to go see the baby after church...

Joshua wanted to take the baby home with him and couldn't stop giving her kisses...

I had to be the meanie and tell him that this baby wasn't coming home....and if I can help it, there won't be a new little baby coming home to our house for quite a while! :) Glad to know though that he is still sweet to new babies! He's turing out to be a wonderful big brother!! Of course Jenna didn't really know what was going on. She was too busy trying to get over by Elisha to play with him. Now there's four grandchildren for my dad and Sherrie - all under 2 years old!!! HOLY COW!!! Score is even though - 2 boys, 2 girls......wonder who will break the tie?? I'm voting for a boy since the older two are boys......but we shall see what happens and when! LOL

Ar-teest

Joshua has always liked to color. Since he was about 7 months old he has colored using markers and crayons. They might look like scribbles, but to a mom they're "priceless". He holds the markers and crayons correctly at his young age, which in itself is amazing. As you can see, he really likes the color green. Takes after his daddy on that one. Its cool though because he seems to be unusually aware of space and the blank spots on paper. He tries to use a lot of different colors and can sit for an hour or so coloring! Its amazing! I like to draw and color too, but I don't recall this early being able to do this. Maybe I should call Oprah and we can get some sort of contract for our young little einstein! LOL. I even have a video to show that its really him coloring..... And to think if I give him some paint that he could do this.....people pay BIG bucks for "scribble portraits".....hmmmm...
