Daddy's

I am fortunate to have a wonderful help-mate who LOVES the kids and does his best to play, encourage and teach them. It's not often that I get a video of it.... Here's a special time between him and Jayden one evening when the other three were in bed already:

Milestones

I think every parent loves milestones. It gives you this proud feeling when you see your "baby" grow up and learn these everyday tasks. Sometimes it seems as though they almost grow up too fast. Especially when it's your last baby....
Jayden will be nine months on the 16th of August. He is standing, crusing along things, wanting to eat "grown up food" and surprisingly, cut his first tooth!
I am surprised because Josh was the youngest to get teeth - he was 10 months... This took me by surprise! In fact I thought Jayden had been hurt because his mouth was bleeding!! Come to find out, his tooth was breaking through... Who knew!
He's growing up TOO fast!!! :(

Eight Months and growing.....

Eight months ago God fulfilled a promise to our family.

A promise that made our family complete.

Now pulling up on everything, and crawling like a champ - he'll soon be walking and chasing his big brother and sisters.
new favorite snack is "Baby Goldfish" and he loves gnawing on pizza crust!
Always smiling and loving sharing a room with big brother, Josh.

And a big sister, Jenna, who loves him more than words can say. She protects him and looks after him.

A family knit together for a purpose.

Seasons....

Have you ever noticed that grocery stores have seasons? You have the Halloween season, Fall season, Christmas season, Valentines, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Summer season and my favorite...Back to School Season!

My oldest, Josh (4) will be starting Pre-K at Legacy this fall and needless to say, he is SO excited! We start in mid-August, so stores are getting their school supplies sales on early....here's what we got!

Josh's favorite thing from the list

What kids doesn't love markers!
We got EVERYTHING on our list for his classroom AND even got a few khaki shorts for his uniform that were on clearance! Hey, wherever there's a deal - get it!

And of course, a video of Joshie practicing his name for Pre-K because he couldn't WAIT to write on the white board! LOL

Heaven

I really hope there's In N Out in heaven....

A So. Cal. girl living here in Texas makes one miss this deliciousness (unless you are my husband, who could care less that it even exists!)...

There's three open in Dallas, Tx....

Only a matter of time before they migrate down here...
Thanks, Monty & Letty for my delicious dinner! (and yes, I gave Josh a bite - it was small, but at least I shared!)

How To: {Coupons)

I've had a lot of people ask me HOW I organize and do my couponing....Granted I am NOT an extreme couponer, like you see on TV, I do use coupons to feed my family of 6 for about $50 a week, and have built upa little stockpile on FREE stuff! Here's my steps to success:
  • Get the Sunday paper - I buy 6 because theye have at least two coupon inserts and I use a lot of their couons (**Note: I usually do not buy on a holiday weekend bc they don't usually have new inserts)
  •  Get Organized! I like the binder system - I use trading card sleeves to organize my coupons and have them categorized in groups like "baby", "frozen", etc. I am a visual person, so i like to actually look at them. Some people prefer to not cut them, but file by date, and others like to put them in a box....
  •  Make your list (and stick to it!) - I use The Grocery Game to help me stay on toip of things since I also have four important kiddos to take care of and teaching. It doesn't leave a ton of time to spend matching in-store deals with coupons... PLUS, it shows you your expected total and percent savings. :)
  •  Go shopping! - I like to go on Tuesday's or Monday evenings because there aren't as many people there. I buy ONLY what's on my list - sticking to it has allowed us to buy more expensive items that we normally would NOT buy because of the price - things like organics. If you look on your coupons too, it doesn't state you have to purchase the pictured product, so buy the smallest size for maximum savings. :) Here's some pictures of what we've been able to stock up on. All items were either FREE or cost less than a dollar to purchase....

The pantry

Baby supplies

Closet supply of Excedine, toothpast, toothbrushes, bandaids, shampoo/conditioner, and body wash

Remember to stay organized

Laundry Room - 14 bottles of ALL & Wisk; 6 bottles of Snuggle; 4 bottles of Febreeze
It makes me wonder why I never did this before! I went yesterday to the store because my dad and Sherrie were coming over for dinner. I glanced at the list and walked out with 14 free Country Time lemonaides, 8 boxes of free pasta, and 5 free pizzas in addition to what we went there for. Retail value was $141.... I paid $42... That's a 67% savings.... I could get used to that! :)
