Holiday Photos

I try to take the kids' pictures around this time to start making my Christmas cards. I am thankful for cool things out there that allow me to edit my pictures and create a collage with ALL my kids present. 'Cause getting ALL four kids to sit nice for a picture is near impossible. At least three of the four are able to now, but getting Jayden to sit still for anything is just NOT going to happen. That boy is on the move!

Here are my favorite shots (edited) of each munchkin. I'll be editing these for our anual Christmas card, so look for them soon! :)

Thankfulness: Grandparents

November 21 Day of Thanksgiving:

I am thankful for grandparents. My own grandparents are better than I could have ever imagined. I have so many memories of walking up to the mailbox slot on the door and "peeking" in; cuddling up on the qhite rug next to grandma's fireplace; practicing my french by reading her stories in french; having grandpa help me with calculus; and of course the unmistakable smell of deliciousness coming from the kitchen.

I am also thankful that my kids have such wonderful grandparents too. The only drawback is that the only set close enough to spend grandparents day with was my dad and his wife. Don't get me wrong, I value every second with them, but I wish that my mom and her husband as well as Jason's mom could share in some of these precious memories too.

Thus I am thankful for technology too and the ability to share with them (and you) grandparent's day:

They did three numbers: The "A-a-apple" song, "Short Vowel" song and sang along to "Our God is a Great Big God". I have video of the latter two.

I can't wait for next year when Jenna AND Josh will both be performing! :)

O-N-E

It's amazing to me how fast a year flies by now that I am "older". My sweet Jayden boy is one.

No more babies to cuddle close when their born.

No more milestones to snapshot like discovering little toes

No more learning to "stand up" because I'm going to be running soon!

Happy Birthday, sweet Jayden boy!

I'm so thankful that God chose me as your mom and I pray that you would continue to grow into a special young boy that is blessed beyond measure! Your smile lights up our house, sweet baby boy! :)

Raffle

Every year my school holds an awesome christmas party, which also is a major fundraiser for Legacy. Since we are a unique school, we raise any funding we need solely by ourselves. We are currently looking for a permanent residence to build our Lower, Middle and High School campuses as well as increase resources and opportunities for our wonderful students.

Each family needs to sell at least 20 tickets to help make this happen. If you'd like to help us, click on the "Donate" link on the side and in the "note" put raffle ticket. I'll put one with your name on it. You can also mail a check, just email me if you are interested.

$10 gets you a ticket and an opportunity to win an iPad, TV, iPod Touch, vacation getaway or other cash prizes. You do not need to be present to win, I will notify you if you have won something.

So who's joining me in building a legacy for Legacy? :)

Holloween 2011 {Better Late, Than Never!}

Yes, Holloween was over a week ago....

Yes I actually have lots of pictures and stories to write about...

But in my defense I've been a tad bit busy with "life" around here...LOL

Here's what we did on Halloween:
Our church has a "Fall Festival" every year in which there's BBQ cook-offs, bounce houses, horse rides, hay rides, and of course, a bull ride! It was a BLAST!

Josh wanted to be "A Knight in Shining Armor" (I think he's quite good at it, myself)

Jenna wanted to be a princess (how approriate since her brother looks after her and is always concerned with where she is to make sure she is safe)

Julianna wanted to be a puppy (she LOVES puppies!)

Jayden was Tigger (which Joshie wore 4 years ago!)

We had sno cones and they were delicious!

And we had our picture taken on some hay bales....

Hope you celebrated the start of fall and harvest in a fun way!

Growing Up {Texas Style}

If you're in Texas there's two things you can be sure of.
  1. You like meat. BBQ, Brisket, Steak, etc. There's so many steakhouses out here, it's funny!
  2. You own a gun and know how to use it.

Many people know my husband and his affinity for firearms. We have decided it best to teach our children safety and proper use of these while they are young so that they are not "afraid" of them.

Josh has an airsoft gun that Jason goes outside with every once and a while with to teach him safety and proper handling. It's a little pistol with air propelled plastic bb's. They do not hurt if you are shot with it, but they are hard enough to shoot through a paper target. Josh has a LOT of fun practicing!

For a little guy, he does pretty good at shooting the target. He said he wants to be on "Top Shot" when he grows up. :)
