God's Promise

First of all, let me appologize for not blogging sooner, but it's been a whirlwind around here the past 4 weeks. I promise to write more often - I want to write more often :)
Obviously, Jayden Christopher has been born and life with four kids and teaching has gotten the better of me. BUT - I think we are finally in a routine now and since I am officially on Christmas Break until January 10th, I will be able to get back into blogging again and sharing all the stories of being a part of a family of six...But enough ramblings, back to the intent of my blog - God's promise...
In my last blog entry, I was 33 weeks preggo with what we called "God's Promise" - Jayden. His name means "Jehovah has heard" and he is already living up to his nickname as he is such a blessing to our family! Here's a quick "run down" of life with Jayden thus far...
Sunday, November 14th I was having contractions for 2 days straight and after church Jason convinced me to go to the hospital. We called dad and Sherrie to come out to watch the other 3 kids - you know it always takes a while to get "diagnosed" and the attention span of a 4-yr-old, 3-yr-old and 20-month old aren't that long. We went and were in triage for about two hours where I didn't progress past 2 cm, despite the every-two-minute-contractions, so we were sent home. I was discouraged as I'd never felt pains like this before other than being in labor, but because we were 36 weeks and 6 days, we would have to either progress past 3 on our own with in the alloted time, or wait until I was 37 weeks. Needless to say we went back home, only to return again a couple hours later because I simply couldn't function and the pains were still there. This time we had the whole family though...and THREE hours later, at a little past ELEVEN P.M. it was finally discovered that it was severe dehydration! Who knew!!
So to make a long story short, two days later, November 16th, I had a doctor's appt in the morning. I love my dr. because she's become like family over the past four years and we can be "real" with one another. She walks into the room and says "So, you've had a crappy weekend, huh?" I replied with an exhausted "yes!" She said that if I were still having contractions later in the day to come back. So I did. I had prgressed to a "good three" and got to be admitted to have our little blessing. Ten hours later, at 11:55 pm, Jayden Christopher was brought into the world.
Jayden weighed 6 lbs 15 oz, was 19 inches in length and was the sweetest Christmas present this year.
