I tried to get all four kiddos at church amist the beautiful green backdrop and pre-Easter egg hunt.... but this was the best I got....
I still think they're stinkin' cute! Gotta love trying to get four little munchkins to look at you when all they are pre-occupied with is finding eggs! hahaha

Easter - Snapshots
It's Easter weekend. A weekend that has been over commercialized by chocolate bunnies and marshmallow chickens. A weekend that has much more meaning than bright colored eggs
Don't get me wrong - I love the bright eggs hiding away and witing to be found. I love the Cadbury Creme Eggs that are a tradition between my grandma, dad and I. But it's all about the "Reason for the Season". And I love that we get to celebrate with my family and have a joyous celebration in unity.
We actually already had our "family" fun day since my brother-in-law will be going into the Coast Guard - so another Easter post will be up after Easter. But here's a view "through the lens" of how we celebrate as a family. Be warned - if you fall asleep, confetti eggs will be hidden on you!
And if you fall asleep, you'll be left out of the excitement of craking confetti eggs on each others heads!

Easter 2009
This year for Easter we had a packed out weekend. We went to Good Friday service at our awesome new church (http://www.thecrossing.cc/). Saturday I spent the day making deviled eggs and cookies for Easter at my dad's house. Joshie liked helping. He and Jenna got to color Easter Eggs for the first time with Jason that evening. It was a lot of fun to watch. There's a video at the end of this post - so be sure to check it out. Sunday, we went to church and the kids got to enjoy an Easter Egg hunt in their Sunday School classes. After, we went to breakfast and then drove up to my dad's house. Easter turned out to be a lot of fun up at dad's this year. All the kids were up there and we smashed confetti eggs on each other's heads. I also got to play a couple games of volleyball too. Even though my team lost 3 out of the 4, it was so awesome to get out and be "athletic" again. I hope you enjoy the pictures of the weekend and the few videos at the end.

Easter - Part 1

So Easter is almost here!! Its a lot tougher with two kids than just one, or none. But its getting to be so much fun! I made the kids' easter baskets for Sunday's easter egg hunt; filled eggs with candy for the hunt; and took their Easter picture to mail out with easter cards. We'll be going up to my dad's house for Easter again this year. It will be fun though as my sister Jessica and her little family (husband Shon, and baby Elisha - 6 months) are living here now. Jenna loves playing with Eli. Our families are growing so fast!
I remember growing up always hunting for eggs with my cousins and eating lots of delicious food. The family time is the best part. In a way I miss all my family - but then I remember the reason for the celebration. Had it not been for Christ, we wouldn't have the opportunity to know him and there would be no purpose for life in the first place. Anways, if you want to know more about that, just email me...
We have started our own traditions with our own little family. Its nice - we go to church, have the easter egg hunt, then drive up to the lake to spend it with the family up there. We hide confetti eggs, let the little ones "help" us find them and then run around and smash them on each other's heads. Its amazing!! I will be sure to post pictures on Tuesday!!
Only 5 more days until Jenna's first Easter!!
