Turning A New Leaf.....

So it's been THREE WEEKS since the change in our lives started. I have to admit that yes, it's been hard at times to keep my end of the deal with God and remembering that He does have a plan for us and that his plan is better than my plan. It has challenged me because I am a logical, planner. I like to have everything organized and ready-to-go. I like to know that my children are taken care of. And do you know that God has created me like that?! It's part of my role as a woman, wife and mother. And of course it's in my husband's DNA to want to provide and ensure that his wife and children are provided for.

About 8 days ago, Jason got a call from Planet Ford. A company he really didn't have a desire to work for. That's where I think God has a sense of humor. Don't ever tell God you won't ever do something because then he'll challenge you and delvelop your character through that and remind you that it's not about you anyways! The service manager wanted to do a background check and said he "may" have something coming up, but wasn't sure.

Then he called back and said, well, we might as well do the drug test too...

And yesterday he called and my sweet husband is now an auto technician for Ford!

The cool God-thing is that every part of his flesh wants to say "no" because he went from working on "luxury vehicles" to "everyday vehicles", but everything in our spirit (that inside voice) says, "Go, becuase I have a plan for you there - a plan to use you for Me". So not only does he have a job, but he is starting at the same pay he was at Lexus with, AND it looks promising for quick promotions within the shop.

So we loaded up the tools....and borrowed a 6 x 4 trailer...
Discovered that the toolbox was a half inch too long!
Prayed about how to make it fit....and then asked our neighbors to help us push it up the ramp....
God made it fit just right :)

We're so stoked to be starting this new chapter in our lives and it has been so encouraging to SEE God go before us these past three weeks and eliminate any fear, doubt, and worry. It gives you a new found faith in what God can handle. He created the heavans and earth in six days, you think he can't provide for you? :)

When It Rains....It Pours...{Update}

I'm sure everyone has heard the expression "When it rains, it pours".... Yup - that seems to happen, and I used to get SO frustrated when life would take us to this place of "I-can't-control-anything", but I've learned something about it. Not only do things happen for a reason, but whenever it rains, do you know what comes after the rain? Beautiful green grass, flowers and the sweetest, most beautiful time that you can possibly imagine! Sometimes the rain may seem torrential, but it is used to encourage people around you and show the work that is being done as the spring comes again.

As you can tell from my picture above - we had car trouble this past week. Today ends the third straight week of Jason being off, and last week we were blessed to have my mom and Joe visit us in Texas. We enjoyed our time together, but on one of the days that I took them up to look at housing communities, the van died...

It was quite possibly the hottest day in Texas - amid a drought in which there hasn't been rain, so the heat radiates off the ground....
 And there's seven people in the van - which now lacks the ability to cool everyone off....and we are 45 minutes away from our house....and it's lunch time....
 And Jason is an hour away at an interview... Although he is able to come up to rescue us, on the way - he got a flat tire....
 So after about three hours, we got the tow truck to tow the van home - mom and I rode with him and Jason hauled him, the four kids and Joe with him in the truck...
 It cost about $1000 when all was said and done for four new truck tires, a new van alternator and battery and to be towed home, BUT God took care of it. Not only that, but other things too.....

When Jason left Lexus, we had to withdrawl his retirement.... that covered the issues with the van....AND we were able to pay off his Snap-On tools.....AND we were able to enjoy our time together with family. There's going to be a beautiful picture that God is painting with our family....just allow the rain to fall so that the flowers to follow will be gorgeous! Stay tuned for another update... :D I anticipate GREAT things!

{Update}

 The toolboxes came home today. Gives one a sense of reality. It's time to freefall - time to open our wings and fly. As scary as this adventure is, it is also exciting to have a "change" and to know that nothing that is going to happen is going to be from us, but from God.

When we are at our lowest, we can only look up and raise our arms up to give Him glory. There's no turning back now. We choose to get into the trunk of God's car and allow Him to drive. As my husband says, "From the trunk we can't be a backseat driver and tell God where we think He should go - we have to simply trust Him."

Some people have asked how they can help. If you are lead to help and are wondering how, there's a "Donate" button on the sidebar of our blog. Please do not feel obligated. Our God promises that He will supply ALL of our needs and in that I find rest.

Time to clean out the garage to make room for the three toolboxes that came home today...
